Disclaimers

Ah, opinions. You are sticky things.

The content posted on the forums and blog does not represent the opinions or policies of either PittEnvironmental or the University of Pittsburgh. Discussions of said policies are useful, public if posted here, and entirely unofficial. Documents are posted with permission in our library, and we are not responsible for the actions of our users in the forums.

We occasionally touch on and discuss politics. None of these discussions or support messages should be seen as attached to the university or as compromising its politically neutral status. When it comes to the environment, policy is an important piece of the solutions, and frequently presenting both political parties positions as equal misrepresents the situation – case in point, global warming is real, and we are not responsible for the fact nor should it be seen to void any political neutrality (that we don’t profess to have) that Democratic candidates more often support effective environmental policy than Republican candidates.

Lastly, a disclaimer on being wrong: It happens. We encourage people to source information, but we are all human, and may well make mistakes. Let them know and they will be corrected. Allow people to make mistakes without changing how you see them – it’s the only way we’re going to make progress in a world where failure is far more prevalent than success. Don’t get angry. Point out errors, provide better sources, and communicate – everyone wins.
